If there’s one thing I’ve learned about van life, it’s that nothing ever goes exactly as planned. That being said, my biggest piece of advice might sound counterintuitive: always have a plan! Why? Because as my dad always told me, "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail." Maybe that mantra has stuck with me over the years, but it’s proven true time and time again. Without a plan for where you’ll stay, when you’ll need food or water, or what the weather will be like in the area you’re visiting, you could run into avoidable problems. A simple, tentative plan can save you from unnecessary headaches and ensure your journey is much smoother!
